Silly married couple!

So, we've enjoyed "wedded bliss" for almost 5 months now and it could not be better. We still like to go on Friday night dates to add some variety to our weekly routine. So last Friday, we went to Nickelcity and played arcade games for several hours, amassed a nice stash of prize tickets and you'll never guess what we cashed our tickets in for....
To show off our new stylish accessories, we went to Claim Jumper and enjoyed mozzerella sticks and loaded potato skins...and ate up all the strange looks we got from everyone else there. Marvelous, I tell you. Marvelous.

What God has joined together...

On June 25th I officially became Mrs. Jonathan Harris and I could not be happier! Jonathan and I met in the San Diego temple, so it made sense to be sealed there for time and all eternity. It was wonderful to share this special day with our family and friends. We know that our relationship is a gift from our Heavenly Father and He has continued to bless us with good jobs, good health, good surroundings and good friends. We feel so blessed and are so very very happy. :)

Fun at the park!

Jonathan and I decided to have a picnic at the lake and fly a kite. So, we hiked around to the opposite side of the lake (in flipflops, mind you...) and enjoyed some scrumptious tuna sandwiches and then assembled the "Tree Frog". This is the "Tree Frog" in flight...

We had so much fun at the park on Saturday that we decided to visit again on Sunday...to feed the ducks, walk around, throw bread, etc. Here's some of the fun we had:

Engaged!!!

It's official!!! I'm marrying the most wonderful man in the world! We got engaged this evening (yes ladies, he did get down on one knee...) and are still making all our plans. But, for those who are interested, here is what my ring looks like:

I am looking forward to being Mrs. Heidi Harris. I know it's cliche, but I truly will be spending the rest of eternity with my best friend and I could not be happier.

New Job!!!

So, after 3 months of searching for a job, I finally found one!!! I am now working part-time for the Southwestern California chapter of Volunteers of America, which is a faith-based non-profit organization that runs programs to help the community. Some of their programs include daycare/preschool for low-income families, assisted living facilities for the elderly, drug/alcohol rehab, as well as services for individuals just getting out of prison. I'm working in the corporate office as an admin assistant, keeping track of their files and trying to bring more order to the office. I love feeling productive again and I love feeling like what I'm doing makes a difference. One of the perks of my job is that I get Thursdays off, so I can still help out at the Bishop's Storehouse. I feel like this is the perfect job for me right now and I'm just loving it. Just about every day I drive directly to Jonathan's place as soon as work finishes up and we hang out until he has to leave to work at 4:30. We usually make lunch/dinner together and catch up on each other's lives. We also like to take short naps...because one or both of us are usually tired. Since this week the Olympics are on, I have been up until past midnight just about every night...the naps have been welcomed. :) I completed my first time sheet today, and I'm looking forward to getting my first paycheck....hooray!!!

Beautiful!!!

So, Johnny and I made dinner for my family last night. The menu consisted of:

Barbecue Ribs
Mashed Potatoes
Cauliflower w/ melted pepper jack cheese
Stir-fried vegetables
Cornbread
Baked Beans
Blueberry-banana Smoothies

We made WAY too much food, so not only did a stuff myself at dinner last night, but I stuffed myself again eating leftovers tonight. :) My belly swelled up....Johnny kept laughing at me.

Oh, and since we are talking about beautiful things...here's a picture of us standing in the parking lot at Home Depot enjoying a beautiful sunset. :)

Turning RED!!!

So, I took a niacin supplement yesterday to help "flush my system" since I felt a cold coming on. Wow, I was not ready for what happened! Not only did I turn the brightest shade of red I have ever been (100 times worse than a killer sunburn), but I got really bad chills and could not stop shaking. But, despite my best efforts to avoid it, my cold isn't any better today...so I've been laying low. Lucky for me, my amazing Jonathan has been taking good care of me. Just another stretch in the wonderful adventure that is my life. :)
